NFL 2013 preseason schedule continues tonight and we will see the New York Giants take on the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh. The start time is 7:30 pm (Eastern) and the game will be televised on NFL Network.

Last year the Giants had a 9-7 mark and missed the playoffs, but back in 2011 they had the same 9-7 regular season mark and won the Super Bowl. Football is a strange game. This year the NFC East is not all that tough and 9-7 would probably get them back in the post season. The concern for the Giants coming into this year is both the OL and defensive lines. On offense they did reach in the 1st round to take Justin Pugh out of Syracuse with the 19th overall pick, but very little else was done to help the OL line. On defense the lose Umenyiora and Tuck and Paul have seen better days and that will not help a team that struggled vs the run last year and saw their vaunted pass rush no play up to expectations. On offense expect Manning and the rest of the starters to get about 15 snaps. Tom Coughlin has a 35-30-4 ATS record in preseason and one of the best over marks at 42-27.
Age is starting to creep up on Pittsburgh and that makes this a very important training camp for many of their players. Former Defensive Player of the Year James Harrison and veteran nose tackle Casey Hampton, along with solid CB Keenan Lewis are all gone form this team and Oft-injured Troy Polamalu is always a question mark because you don't know how much he will play. Aso on defense cornerbacks Cortez Allen, DeMarcus Van Dyke, Terry Hawthorne and Curtis Brown have gone down so far. On offense they have parted ways with speedy WR Mike Wallace, while on the injury front they will be missing TEs Heath Miller, Mike Spaeth and David Johnson, plus OT Guy Whimper and WR Plaxico Burress.
